14th-Oct-2013 08:29 am - Gobble, gobble!
Happy Bartolome Day, my darlings! And to my Canadian friends, enjoy your Thanksgiving!

My schedule today involves continuing to flesh out a couple of story ideas so I can get writin', to upload the new quarterly wallpaper (only two weeks late this time!), and finally, to finish the overhaul of the Mobile Minion Street Team and get the new missions up so folks can go forth and minion!

And your plans?
7th-Oct-2013 02:31 pm - Things to know about me today
moon and bats
1. I just sent the historical off to its editor. Yay! That means I get to start thinking VERY SERIOUSLY about the next book.

2. I love my housecleaner. Seriously, she rocks. She didn't even balk at cleaning up after six people who used my guest bathroom for a week.

3. I spent six hours yesterday casting on, then frogging and re-casting on, toes for knitted toes-up socks. I am now the master of the swirly toe and Bosnian toe starter thingies. I deserve a tiara.

4. My sister asked me to knit her a Tardis hat. I am doing so because I can't believe she actually wants it. My sister is odd.

How's your Monday treating you?
3rd-Oct-2013 09:56 am - Tom Clancy
Sad Katie
I am sad that Tom Clancy died so young. I wasn't a huge fan of his books, but I know many people who are, and who will most likely indulging in a re-readathon.

I've asked this before, but since the answers are always interesting, I'll ask it again: do you re-read your favorite books? I have shelves devoted to my "comfort reads" that I turn to whenever I need something warm and fuzzy for my brain.

Some people can't re-read books (my mother is one). Are you a keeper shelf person, or a read it and move on person?
25th-Sep-2013 08:28 am - Editing like the wind!
All right my darlings, today I'm editing (which I love, love, love). And hopefully, I'll have time to take an editing break and play Insanely Fast Tarot Card Reading For Facebook Folk. Fingers crossed, everyone!

In the mean time, who wants to see the lovely new design that the so-talented Frauke from Croco Designs did on my website? It's spiffy and pretty and has an owl and little alchemical symbols!

23rd-Sep-2013 08:43 am - On Monday.
Drake 2
It's Monday, I can open my mouth again without screaming (gee, thanks jaw muscles for being so upset at all the numbing that went on last Thursday), and I have a book to edit pronto-like.

Which means we all have to stop lollygagging around the interwebs and get to it! Or at least *I* do. Insert martyred sigh here, please.
12th-Sep-2013 09:15 am - Oooh!
Sad Katie
Just thought of something super fun to do with you all. Some of you may know that I have a love of tarot and oracle cards, and have a huge collection of both (really, I *have* to stop buying them--one can only use SO MANY CARDS!). And I love doing little mini readings for friends, so why not combine that with the fun of chatting with you, my adorable readers?

So here's my plan: a couple of times a week I will pop on to Facebook or Twitter (not at the same time, mind you) and will open the doors for mini two-card tarot and Lenormand readings. You won't have to do anything but sign up by commenting on the post in question--not this one!--and I'll do live readings and give you the results as a reply to your comment.

Sounds like fun, huh? I'm excited because it'll give me a chance to use some of my decks that seldom get out to see the sun.

With luck, we'll do a trial run this afternoon, once I'm done writing my daily wad o' book that will never die (the usual stage for the last week's worth of a book).

Until then, get your mystical face ready!
11th-Sep-2013 01:52 pm - Yarn Fans!
Dragon Love 1
Something yummy for you to look at--it's delicious black alpaca and silk from Woolgatherings that I spun up a few days ago.

I can't begin to tell you how soft and gorgeous this yarn turned out. Luckily, I have three more rovings of it to spin up. I may need more...
9th-Sep-2013 08:02 am - Jim's book club. Yes, *that* Jim.

You love him, you want him, and you got him! Yes, Jim has started his own book club review project, and the first book up is (astonishingly!) The Art of Stealing Time.

You can read Jim's thoughts on the book here.
6th-Sep-2013 08:24 am - Bring out your Kermit arms!
Light Dragons
FRIDAY! I clutch it with both hands! Desperate, desperate little hands!

Yes, someone needs a weekend, and I assume I'm not alone in that respect. Who has fabulous plans this weekend? Who is going to flake out (like me) and indulge her crafty side by making/sewing/knitting? Who is spending the weekend reading? And of course, who is reading The Art of Stealing Time?

I'm so anxious to talk to folks about the book, and see what everyone thinks of Gwen and Gregory and how can we forget Diego, but of course, I don't want to do spoilers, so I'm practically hopping up and down trying to keep quiet.

I think we're going to have to do an official book chat soon so we can all talk about it!

But until then...FRIDAY! Kermit-arms-yay!
